During an erg test at the end of January 2016, my old back pain erupted again – I thought. However, the symptoms lasted longer than I thought they should. On January 31, we went to a training camp, but had to stay on shore the first 4-5 days due to my back pain, which was very frustrating for both my partner Jens Noll Nielsen and myself.

Henrik and Jens on Furesøen trained by Jorgen Andersen, the weekend 19 to 21 June. The exercise was used to correct minor errors, which resulted in some really good times and speed up the boat. The course was rowed several times with times that were at the height of the planned – and better.

Now my main goal is to win Olympic gold in Rio De Janeiro Olympics in 2016. To do that, I need an Olympic boat type like lightweight Double Sculer. Together with Steffen Bonde from Odder Rowing Club we formed at LM2X. Today Steffen is the second best lightweight rower in Denmark.
There is some years to the Olympic Game in Rio 2014. Today we have a established a program with targets adapted to a newly composed team. The first major goal is to qualify for the finals of the European Championships in the last week in May. Then we start the intensive training up to the World Cup. Our goal are gold medals at the World Championships late August in Amsterdam.

When Henrik with his coach Joergen Andersen entered the competition, they were met with a deafening roar of excitement. From the race start there was no doubt about the outcome. Henrik came quickly up to speed and kept the drive continuously through 1:29 and then drive was set up to 1:27 with a total 2,000 meters time of 5:56.7. exactly world record set in 2013.
