During an erg test at the end of January 2016, my old back pain erupted again – I thought. However, the symptoms lasted longer than I thought they should. On January 31, we went to a training camp, but had to stay on shore the first 4-5 days due to my back pain, which was very frustrating for both my partner Jens Noll Nielsen and myself.

Power training Furesøen

Henrik and Jens on Furesøen trained by Jorgen Andersen, the weekend 19 to 21 June. The exercise was used to correct minor errors, which resulted in some really good times and speed up the boat. The course was rowed several times with times that were at the height of the planned – and better.

For daily trained in Denmark Rocenter at Bagsvaerd lake under the leadership of coach Brian Richardson.

This weekend went good for me and my lm2x partner Steffen Bonde. Danish long distance race turned out for a win for us. Not only the fastest 2x time both Saturday and Sunday, but also the win in the competition of comparrison among boat types. Things are going well and we feel improvement.

Some nice races this weekend on Odense Canal. Henrik Stephansen and I won the 6K both days in our class, and also the aggregated result list based on the World record times.
From now on we have to work with the speed in the High stroke rates.

Denmark’s strongest lightweight rowers

Now my main goal is to win Olympic gold in Rio De Janeiro Olympics in 2016. To do that, I need an Olympic boat type like lightweight Double Sculer.  Together with Steffen Bonde from Odder Rowing Club we formed at LM2X.  Today Steffen is the second best lightweight rower in Denmark.

There is some years to the Olympic Game in Rio 2014.  Today we have a established a program with targets adapted to a newly composed team. The first major goal is to qualify for the finals of the European Championships in the last week in May.  Then we start the  intensive training up to the World Cup.  Our goal are gold medals at the World Championships late August in Amsterdam.
